Hey, fountain (and other) pen and paper enthusiasts! We don’t have a Discover emoji tag feed for you folks yet, but I know there are quite a few of you. Roll call? I’d like to keep a list. There are new microbloggers joining us right now who are interested.

Pilchuck

@jean I use fountain pens, inks, and selected (code for picky?) notebooks on a daily basis.

@jean that's me -- but I don't blog about it much, although come to think of it I did post a photo here with a fountain pen and notebook....

@jean hi Jean. I’m not into fountain pens, but I love archival ink black pens. I use them for doodles, bullet journaling, and Sketchnotes. Does that fit your use case?

jessekelber

@jean Heck yeah! Analog guy trapped in a digital world here. Have 3 fountain pens inked up and a pile of new notebooks being delivered today.

@cm Anybody who is picky about a writing instrument, or ink, or paper counts 100%. If there is intention, you're a stationery guy.

docuguy

@jean Yes: Notebooks, mostly Leuchtturn. A German pen called a Schneider (only becasue it's named after me.) Mostly pencils, though. Staedtler, Tombow Mono100, Mitsu-Bishi Hi Uni.

@patrickrhone I think you were on Penaddict Slack for awhile? That scene got old for me because I don’t want to buy 100s of pens. πŸ™„

@jean did someone say fountain pens?

sylvia

@jean I am! Use a paper planner (Filofax) and journal, am a pen geek and especially love fountain pens!

Would love an emoji feed for this!

@kirschen love my Kurutoga pencil. It’s just so perfect that you can sharpen the lead.

patrickrhone
patrickrhone

@Pilchuck Yeah. You just need one pen. The one that's right for you.

(Says the guy who has way too many pens)

Pilchuck

@patrickrhone πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I pared back to 8 pens, after buying 40-ish and hovering around 15-20 for awhile.

@jean Bought, but not yet used the Lamy ABC. πŸ–‹ I am going to re-learn to write cursive with it, so count me in. 😊

@jean I'm definitely part of this group. β™₯οΈπŸ–‹βž•πŸ“œ I've got enough pens and notebooks that I don't know if I'll ever be able to run out. (Yet I still somehow end up with more. Strange that.)

@jean Me! Three fountain pens in daily use, Pelikan, TWISBI and Pilot. Teal, Purple and Black.

pimoore

@jean My only pen right now is a Lamy Safari with a cursive italic nib, but I’m eyeing up the Lamy 2000 as my grail pen. I just have to work up the courage to submit an equipment upgrade request to the management...

... otherwise known as clearance from my wife. πŸ˜‚

@jean you can add me to the pen and paper lovers list and I have the ink on my fingers to prove it.

HauntedRadiator

@jean Count me among that number. Notebooks, pens, and pencils. Have been known to buy individual sheets of manuscript paper from a charity/thrift shop because of their layout.

@pimoore I'm not certain where you're located, but Pen Chalet sometimes has Lamy 2000's show up on their Final Drop page (aka open box returns) at a pretty significant discount. I actually acquired mine there earlier this year.

pimoore

@dgreene196 thanks Devon, unfortunately I’m in Canada which has draconian import limits and duty charges. If it wasn’t for this I’d be all over that! Now that you mention it though I’m going to peek around and see if I can find any Canadian based deals out there.

@jean Count me in. A few months ago i replaced my online calendar with a paper planner/diary. Very happy with the change. I'd correspond with friends by letter/postcard if there were enough other people writing letters/postcards. I don't care much about pens, probably like a Pilot V5 best. (Anne Tyler says she uses those to write all her novels, but so far they haven't made me more creative as far as I can tell).

@jean I am shifting from digital toward analog systems, that is paper notebooks with pencils and pens. I would certainly be interested in anything written about such topics. A special emoji or icon would be a very helpful tool for finding them here. I have a favorite stationery store in Thailand where I always head for the notebooks, pens & pencils inventory, always so fascinating.

@jean tremors suck… I don't think you would not be qualified for this tribe, anyway, I think it's about passion, not necessarily the most perfect writing! But oh, count me in as a pen and ink enthusiast πŸ˜€ neeeeed a Discover emoji tag now, we're a legion!

@jean I draw with dipping pen and ink. The nibs are sharp, if you drop one by accident onto your arm you end up with a tiny inkblot tattoo πŸ€• πŸ–Š
