What’s a famous movie filmed (or set) in your hometown? For me, it’s Secretariat and The Apostle. 🍿

@Mtt My hometown (Mumbai) is the HQ of Bollywood, so there are too many to count 🙃

@Mtt The closest I have to a film being set in my hometown is A League of their Own in Rockford, IL. As far as filmed in my hometown, the best would be Groundhog Day filmed in Woodstock, IL. I would add the most representative film though is Bing Liu’s documentary Mind the Gap about growing up in Rockford.

@Mtt "Mystic pizza" was set in and filmed in my neighboring town of Mystic, CT.

@Mtt I’m from Hell, Norway, and a lot of films is partly set in Hell, but the other Hell of course. Oslo, where I live now, has some known movies, but I don’t know how many are internationally recognized, let alone famous. Maybe The Worst Person in the World, or maybe July 22. Really not sure.

@Mtt So many! Purple Rain. The Untamed Heart. Jingle All the Way (filmed mostly at Mall of America). There's probably more I'm forgetting.

That said, I claim two hometowns. The other is New Orleans and that list is too long for this space.

@Mtt I’m from the actual Grimsby from the awful film starring Sacha Baron Cohen, called Brothers Grimsby in the US. Cohen acts like he’s from Manchester and the film was shot just outside of London.
