@manton In a book on writing, I read about a guy who booked a round trip from LAX (or maybe it was NYC) to Tokoyo and back. Dude never left the airport. Just cranked out the first draft of a manuscript.

@manton This. Fleeing to the coast next week, not by train, but hoping a change in routine jumpstarts something.
@manton I switched up home office to help me finish writing this week will test the theory. My new train trips recently have mainly involved playing the Switch which has been nice too
@manton I mean, if you gotta get the draft done. But maybe a train trip across the country would have better views.
@manton As someone who’s done two cross country train trips: do it. You get so much done. The Coast Starlight is a particular favorite too. Just don’t count on Internet access!
@splinter Oh yeah, I was looking at that earlier: no wifi on the Texas Eagle. And probably inconsistent cell coverage.
