@odd I didn't realized you'd actually quit and hoped you were just taking some time to deal with the real world. Welcome back.
@odd that's awesome. MB is a great community because of people like you. I'm happy to see that you have decided to come back 🙂
@odd glad you changed your mind! You‘re a valued member here! I also wholeheartedly agree with you Simple Plea post. Thing went off the rails more often lately. I know, some people think it feels too much like grandma’s house here, but I cherish this actually. I don’t need all the crazy uncles shouting at each other 😉 I make use of muting people more often now, and it feel good 😊 Anyhow… welcome back 👍
@hutaffe Thank you very much, Manuel! In my upbringing, I had all the yelling and quarrel of a lifetime, so I don’t need it. I’ve already gone in on the admin panel, and muted some terms. It’s always nice to be wanted, so thank you for that! ☺️
@pcora Thank you, Pedro! I was in the wilderness so to speak, but I did get to read more, so I’m planning to set aside more time for this in the future. 📚
@crossingthethreshold Thank you, David! I really didn’t expect to return to my @odd account and following the timeline anymore, but here we are. I’ve got a book by Alan Watts that you might know, (The Way of Zen), and I’m planning to read it soon, might have some questions for you.
@gregmoore That is very nice of you to say, Greg! Thank you. I’ll try to be my best self going forward too. You are one of the reasons I came back!
@toddgrotenhuis Thank you! ☺️ Yes, I’m going to use that for what it’s worth going forward.
@odd Because I had seen you over on Mastodon, I hadn’t clicked that you weren’t here…but it is good to have you back.
I am aware of Alan Watts, though have never read any of his writings. If you do have any questions, please do reach out and I’ll do my best to answer. You can reach by email at ctt omg.lol.
@crossingthethreshold Thanks! I might do just that. At the moment I’m reading one of his other books, “The Wisdom of Insecurity” which seems to me to be influenced by several theisms including atheism, but leaning towards oriental philosophies.
@odd From what I have read about Alan Watts, I would say that he was a western mystic who fed of a number of ‘isms, as you say, and was in the right place at the right time for when the hippies started to go searching for eastern spirituality.
@crossingthethreshold Good to know. Upon getting the book, I was under the impression that the book I’m now reading was a book by a current author, however it’s first published in 1951(!)
@odd My location and time zone are well, thanks! Hope yours are too :) Autumn is just kicking off now!
@herself Good to hear! I’ve been summoning spring here, since I heard birds sing a week ago. Winter won’t give up that easily, but I’m confident we’ll have proper spring in a couple of weeks. ❄️🧹🌱
