I don’t hear grasshoppers anymore: johnjohnston.info

@johnjohnston Did you ever find a decent iPhone mic?

@stefp @johnjohnston : there was a microcast that @macgenie did recently where they talked about this .. shure 50?

@JohnPhilpin I want something better for field recording/ birdsong and I’ve been looking at the iRig Mic Field. Not sure what to get though.

@stefp aaah - yes ... different problem.

@stefp didn’t get one. This looks great Shure MV88 Digital Stereo Condenser Microphone but a bit rich for me at the mo.

@stefp @JohnPhilpin I have an older cheaper iRig. Was not great bit of noise.

@johnjohnston That looks nice. I’ve been considering the iRig Mic Field. It’s less expensive but still not exactly cheap.

@johnjohnston @JohnPhilpin Thanks. Maybe I’ll look elsewhere then.

@stefp I read newer iRigs are better. The one I have is audio jack not lightening.

@johnjohnston If I do decide to get that one I’ll report back.

@johnjohnston there is certainly anecdotal evidence and I expect hard facts that there is a lack of them and bees and more ☹️

@adamprocter yup Warning of 'ecological Armageddon' after dramatic plunge in insect numbers. Why this is not the main item of news every day I don’t know.

@johnjohnston yes still plenty of head in sand moments when it comes to the destruction of our environment ☹️ just gotta keep trying to be as friendly as possible 👍😬
