Always feels good to release Mac software. No need to get permission from Apple. No delays when the build is ready to when it gets in people’s hands. Today we updated Micro.blog for the first time in a little while. Nothing major, just a little better.
@paul True. Notarization has been really fast for me, but there's always the possibility that Apple servers are down or some other glitch hangs things up.
@manton I haven't run into any significant issues with it, but have seen recent reports of it acting up.

That's a very nice list of improvements 👍 One quick observation: the button for making a new post has gone, and that change isn't listed in the log.
@SimonWoods Oops. If you make the window wider, does the new post button show up again? Things drop off when it gets crowded in the toolbar.
@paul Notarization does concern me in terms of giving Apple so much control over distribution. It's kind of like the Apple podcast directory, though... In practice they haven't abused their power so it doesn't feel like a pressing issue.
@manton aha! There it is, along with the account-picker — nice! Only issue left is that the name is cut off half-way through a letter.
@SimonWoods Was it always cut off, or is that new in this update? I may need to update the default button width to give a little more room.
@manton I can't remember if it was cut off at all, although the missing half-letter would have caught my attention.

Hm. Must have been my computer; I didn't get enough RAM after all.
@manton The animation being used to make it responsive is great btw — a charming transition as I re-size the app. :)
@manton The username in the toolbar is getting cut off for me too. It seems like making the window fullscreen fixes the width of that toolbar item and stays fixed after exiting fullscreen. I've also noticed the account and new post toolbar items hide if you make the window too narrow
