Today I’m going to try switching to using Feedbin exclusively in the browser instead of in the completely dilapidated Reeder 3. I’ve been reading RSS in an app for so long, but this feels like the only sustainable path, and it’s a really good web app. You know, for a web app.

@ablaze Feedbin really has a great web app. And it works well on mobile too. I do wish they made a native iOS/Android client though.

@amit Well, its nativeness is up for debate, but they are releasing an iOS app that brings some client-side UI and enough local data/state persistence to the web app. You can join the TestFlight. I’m using it on iPad because Reeder is broken, and I’m going to download on my phone today.

@ecschwarz On my iPad, it looks like this:

@ablaze it's driving me nuts. I've been using the Feedbin beta and it's just ok.

@jsonbecker It’s definitely a step down on iOS. I am finding the web app better than Reeder for Mac, though.

@ablaze That sounds great, it should work too. Thank you for sharing this, will join the beta group right away 👍

Reeder app has been pretty terrible, and the updated promised in August last year is still not here. So even I moved on.

@ablaze I’m still using Reeder on my phone (with Fever no less) and it’s been chugging along. It makes me sad to think of upgrading something and having that all break down.

@sproutlight I think it’s still the best option on the phone, but if you love Reeder, don’t get a new iPad Pro.

@ablaze Good to know! (And luckily? that won’t be an issue any time in the near future.)

@ablaze why not Unread?

@bradbarrish Unread is designed for priorities that are the opposite of mine. I want an RSS reader to be an inbox, dense, information-rich, that can be processed fast. Unread seems to be designed for following few feeds and reading them as you go. I save as I go and read later.

@ablaze interesting. I have hundreds of feeds and I find it to be perfect 🤷‍♂️ I do use Feedbin’s web client on macOS, which I love. Gonna tru our the app on the iPad Pro at your recommendation.

@ablaze just in case FYI - twitter.com/reederapp...

I use reeder with fever but at the moment am using @netnewswire with a smaller newer set of feeds will probably migrate to that once I get a solid list of new rss I really want. But have to stop and organise!

@ablaze major agree… Unread is terrible for triage. Maybe if I had 25 items a day it would be great.

@adamprocter Yeah, “later this year” ended two months ago.” No Reeder 4.

@ablaze What about Lire (what I use) or Fiery Feeds?

@Mtt Tried both, found the interfaces and gestures to be unintuitive.

@ablaze Yeah, it took me a while to customize lire to my liking. I was coming from Reeder as well.
