@humza Pondering similar move. Did you migrate your mastodon-followers here so this is just a new instance? Can you post and read here from other masto-apps (like Ivory)?
@humza Pondering similar move. Did you move your followers from masto, so to them this is basically you moving instance? Can you post and read from other masto-apps (like Ivory?)
@thomasrost I did the same a while ago. You can easily move your followers, but that's no way to use a Mastodon-compatible app with your Micro.blog account. Your choices are the official app and the alternatives created by the community.
You have to also keep in mind that there are many features @manton choose not to add to Micro.blog, like re-posts, likes, visible number of followers and others.
I still miss some of these engagement features and metrics, and I hope Manton rethinks his approach to them in the future. That said, I do like the fact that I have a single identity.
@thomasrost PS.: That's another reason I wanted to have a single identity. Cross-posting to different ActivityPub accounts was creating confusion.
@thomasrost I did do the account migration. I did not have many followers there so not entirely sure how well it went.
Unfortunately cannot use Ivory and the other apps. If that’s something you want to be able to do cross-posting is an option (rather than a complete transition). You would have to still have to post from Micro.blog to get the post to appear in both places.
On the plus side you get your own website and to be part of a community that values writing with a different set of social features.
