@help I have subscribed to @sod’s Discover RSS feed in Reeder. When I click the Conversation link, it takes me to the in-app browser. How do I sign in there? The email sign-in link opens Micro.blog in Safari.

@pratik @help A question I have long tried to figure out the answer to in other situations.

@pratik @crossingthethreshold @help If the in-app browser has an address bar, you can just copy & paste the sign-in URL there. If that's not the case, you have to figure out a creative way to get around the limitation. 🦹

One solution is to navigate to your email provider in the in-app browser, sign in and click the Sign-in to Micro.blog link from there. For example: click the conversation link, and you should end up on Micro.blog (but signed out). Then click Discover followed by 🔍. Search for the name of a decent search engine, like DuckDuckGo. Find a post on the timeline that links to said search engine and, from there, search for your email provider. Now, sign in to your email account and click the Micro.blog sign-in link. You should now be signed in to Micro.blog in the in-app browser. Celebrate! 🥳

Another alternative is to disable the in-app browser in your feed reader to open links in your regular browser instead.

@sod @pratik I was trying to think of a creative way of doing this yesterday evening, and could not figure it out. But this is seriously creative 🤯

@sod @pratik Brilliant. That worked. Took a bit of doing to find a DuckDuckGo link, but once I did, everything else worked smoothly. Even if I quit @netnewswire, I am still logged in. Thank you 🙏🏻

@sod @crossingthethreshold Ha! That's so creative. Instead of searching for a search engine, I just searched for FastMail which is a MB account that had the URL in its profile. Signed in there, and boom! Conversation now opens with MB signed in. Thanks!

@sod Tried this now, with the workaround, and you, sir, are a genius!

Now I’ll just have to replace all the feeds I have going into my Feedbin account, as your feeds are a brilliant idea! Thank you for another improvement that is now mandatory for me as well.
