I follow the Discover timeline via RSS. What would be SUPER COOL is a way for m.b to add a “reply on Micro.blog” at the end of these posts, so it’s a single click to get back to the timeline to reply to them! 😃 👍 @manton @jean

@Burk @manton @jean I would 100% second with this. I have been doing a simular thing though RSS and it takes a bit of work if I want to respond to a post. I know there is the Plug-in that can kind of do this but for the normal user they probably won’t enable it or if they then change their theme (like I did) it might break or go away.

@Burk Yes please! I generally click the conversation link to see the convo on the web and came sometimes reply from there. An easy link with a single click would be fabulous.

@Miraz @burk but that would mean modifying the feed to have a linkback not to the original post but to the MB timeline, right? Is that possible?

@vincent See, you say things like this and expect me to not ask for new features. What else are you holding back on? 😆

@Burk Do you mean something like in the screenshot below? If so, you should check out my alternative feed for the Discover timeline. Ping @manton @jean @vincent @ericmwalk @Miraz @pratik @odd

Screenshot showing a post in a feed reader. Directly below the post, there’s a link: Conversation on Micro.blog. A handwritten text says: this link is added to all feed items.

@sod I didn’t know you had made an alternative feed! Great experiment.

@Burk I’m not that savvy. How do you get a RSS feed for the Discover page?

@joelhamill The JSON feed is https://micro.blog/posts/discover. It’s not RSS, but most modern feed readers can handle it. There’s a list of feeds over at the Help Center.

@sod sweet. I was not aware of the list of feeds. Thanks.

@manton I haven’t really told anyone before now. 😊 Thanks! It might be a nice feature to add officially. The feature could be opt-in by adding ?includeConversationLink=true or similar to feed URLs.

@sod brilliant .. the inability to reply or follow makes the official rss feed close to useless for my needs, which is why I just use discover in the app … Thankyou.

@sod On the list of feeds, what do they mean by this one: “Friends’ posts for what the specified user sees in their timeline”?

@JohnAN Based on which username you put into the URL, you will get that user’s timeline as an RSS feed. For example, your timeline is available at https://micro.blog/feeds/JohnAN.xml.
