@Burk @manton @jean I would 100% second with this. I have been doing a simular thing though RSS and it takes a bit of work if I want to respond to a post. I know there is the Plug-in that can kind of do this but for the normal user they probably won't enable it or if they then change their theme (like I did) it might break or go away.
@Burk Yes please! I generally click the conversation link to see the convo on the web and came sometimes reply from there. An easy link with a single click would be fabulous.
@pratik Every post has an ID associated with it in Micro.blog. As the Discovery feed is derived from the data stored in MB, it should be easy to append to the post text. Not saying I will do it, but it certainly is possible.
@vincent See, you say things like this and expect me to not ask for new features. What else are you holding back on? π
@pratik Keep 'em coming. I'll just add everything to a list, and then one day it will come π
@Burk Do you mean something like in the screenshot below? If so, you should check out my alternative feed for the Discover timeline. Ping @manton @jean @vincent @ericmwalk @Miraz @pratik @odd
@joelhamill The JSON feed is https://micro.blog/posts/discover. It's not RSS, but most modern feed readers can handle it. There's a list of feeds over at the Help Center.
@manton I haven't really told anyone before now. π Thanks! It might be a nice feature to add officially. The feature could be opt-in by adding ?includeConversationLink=true
or similar to feed URLs.
@sod brilliant .. the inability to reply or follow makes the official rss feed close to useless for my needs, which is why I just use discover in the app β¦ Thankyou.
@sod On the list of feeds, what do they mean by this one: "Friendsβ posts for what the specified user sees in their timeline"?
@JohnAN Based on which username you put into the URL, you will get that user's timeline as an RSS feed. For example, your timeline is available at https://micro.blog/feeds/JohnAN.xml.
@joelhamill I was going to reply with the .rss feed, but check this out instead! micro.blog/sod/14620...
