Most guests on the Micro @monday Microcast are people I’ve never talked to before, which is quite fun. But every so often, it’s great to catch up with an old friend like @dori. She’s been blogging for nearly 20 years, which gives her a unique perspective. Listen here.

@dori Thanks for coming on the podcast! It was a delight to chat, and the technical stuff was no big deal.

@macgenie It was great to get the perspective of an old timer, quite excellent! Very notable quote: "I was expecting a blogging platform and instead it was a blogging community and that surprised me. And that's a good thing, which is different from what I was expecting!"

@macgenie @dori It was great to hear a perspective from an “old hand” at this whole Internet thing (and, beyond that, this software thing); it feels like lots of things these days are being “governed”/driven by people who’ve only been on the web 5 years or less and sorely lack all of that perspective. Lots of quotable bits, but I really liked how the blog was the place for all the writing no one would pay you for ;-)

@dori Also, @macgenie has plenty of experience with technical issues; she had to deal with all manner of them with me, too!

@smokey Oh, I could (and have) done entire rants on newbies and novices who don't feel a need to learn any of the history and culture of a community before announcing how they're going to "fix" things. Thankfully, @macgenie kept me from going that route. 😀
