@rom Change is hard, especially one's own habits. Those neural paths are persistent, as are those of our friends.
Not that Apple cares (although they might say they do, through spin and seemingly profound statements) about all this. The company (as an abstraction) is there to extract money from its customers, pure and simple capitalism. Its employees might care (or think they care) about other things as well.
Self-actualizing customers don't give in to consumerism, and only buy what they actually need or decided on their own they want as a luxury item to enhance their lives.
