@ptrck "New experiences" — nice, and a great idea.

@ptrck I love this post. Figuring out what I like has been my middle-age quest, after so many years of trying to figure out what other people wanted.

(PS I read your note about a naysayer. This is a human tendency I will never understand. It’s not just unkind, it’s not logical. I am impressed that you are fishing at all.)

@ptrck Good for you taking steps to alter things! I hope you find several experiences that brings you joy or at least not boredom. Dealing with anxiety, (I haven’t experienced depression in 20 years), I am seldomly bored, although I’m also not often experiencing joy. Have been feeling better for a couple of months, so I might try to find some new experiences myself.

@jean thank you! Those people are mind-boggling but easier to ignore as I get older. It's a strange feeling to have something (fishing) that draws me off of the couch/away from the desk and into the outdoors. After years of not having anything to draw me outdoors, it's super refreshing.

@odd thank you. It's getting easier as I'm building more momentum and velocity in that effort to go and do, but still have some challenges getting over myself on the daily.
