@ptrck I love this post. Figuring out what I like has been my middle-age quest, after so many years of trying to figure out what other people wanted.
(PS I read your note about a naysayer. This is a human tendency I will never understand. It’s not just unkind, it’s not logical. I am impressed that you are fishing at all.)
@ptrck Good for you taking steps to alter things! I hope you find several experiences that brings you joy or at least not boredom. Dealing with anxiety, (I haven’t experienced depression in 20 years), I am seldomly bored, although I’m also not often experiencing joy. Have been feeling better for a couple of months, so I might try to find some new experiences myself.
@jean thank you! Those people are mind-boggling but easier to ignore as I get older. It's a strange feeling to have something (fishing) that draws me off of the couch/away from the desk and into the outdoors. After years of not having anything to draw me outdoors, it's super refreshing.
