Not much has changed in my planner life since 2020. For 2023, I’m using an A5 Hobonichi Techo Cousin as my work planner and an A6 Hobonichi Techo Planner as my personal diary. The latter fits nicely in my handbag so I’m never without it.

@cygnoir Sounds like a great balance! I bought a 5-year techo two years ago and have been trying to use it exclusively, but I think there's too much weight on the book lasting that long. I ordered a Day-Free again for 2023, and I think that will be better - it doesn't feel like it needs to be an objet d'art, it can just be useful.
@cygnoir Why do men not carry handbags? They seem so...handy.
I'm trying to use a A5 Cousin as a diary coz the A6 didn't work out last time.
@pratik Handbags - in Europe, they often do. Here in East London they are pretty de rigueur. And no self-respecting drug dealer would go out without his small crossbody bag, though probably not containing an A5 planner!
@mmetcalfe I know I know. I should not feel bad about carrying one, but I always get reminded about - It's not a man purse, it's called a satchel - when I think about it.
@pratik Man-bags are a thing; you can get a variety of fancy leather ones. If you include backpacks and messenger bags, men's handbags are everywhere.
@pratik I have (how is a long story) a gas mask pack from World War II Sweden that I carry… canvas with leather trim, smaller front pocket, crossbody strap, very practical. No idea where I would find another one but it does give me a good comeback to “man purse.”
@dwalbert Now I wouldn’t mind carrying around a gas mask. At least it would make for a good conversation starter
@JMaxB I guess I’ve to look for a one I can carry. But also, remembering to take it along is something I have to. I’ve started using a sling on vacations for my phone, wallet, chargers, etc. so maybe it’s just one size up. @JohnPhilpin
@pratik FunkyPlaid carries one. I think it looks good on him. 😄 Good luck with your A5 Cousin!
@cygnoir it’s me. I need to get over it. I’m still getting used to my A5. It’s almost like a BuJo so trying to think how to use it without it becoming a chore.
@pratik Tom Bihn makes several great options. I carry a Maker Bag pretty much everyday, from Wallet and keys only all the way through a full day load of books, iPad, notebooks, etc.
@pratik .. my ‘man bag’ by Robert Graham
It’s big enough to ‘just’ fit the ‘normal’ iPad … my mini easily drops in.
Robert Graham also happens to be the ‘name’ behind my duffle bag
@pratik I‘ve been increasingly enjoying carrying around a fanny pack (also called hip pack). A fancy one but a fanny pack nonetheless. Not super practical when you don’t want your clothes creased but any other time I like it.
@jsonbecker Thanks. I quite liked the Sutter. Perfect size and material.
@JohnPhilpin, your bag looks pretty 'manly' too. I couldn't find it on the site, though.
@mangochutney, Unfortunately, a fanny pack isn't my style anymore.
@jessekelber I have looked at Tom Bihn bags before, but they are a bit bigger than I like.
@pratik yeah he tends to roll through different designs … I was surprised to see my duffle was still there.
@pratik sutter looks nice .. but i know how I use bags … I have a Thiele rucksack which is carried like a brief case 90 percent of the time and on one shoulder the other 10%.. never worn it as an actual rucksack.
@JohnPhilpin I'm mostly looking to carry it off one shoulder like a backpack sometimes is or cross-body. Also, something that looks good casual and formal outfits.
@pratik I often get my bags from Ally Capellino. My EDC is the Pendle (too small for your requirements I think). I also have a Mini Hoy backpack, which can be carried like a handbag - it's small on the back, though a very handy bag. There are a number of satchel-type bags - I like the "Jeremy" size and shape - I have a smart one for more formal occasions.
@pratik I actually carry a North Face Berkeley Field Bag almost every where I go. For me, it straddles the line between backpack and “man purse” well enough.
@Mtt That actually looks like a nice bag. Is there any place you don't carry it? Also, affordable enough to give it a shot to see if carrying any bag works for me.
