@JohnPhilpin @adamprocter This quote suddenly makes my recent decision to switch to Apple Music feel a lot better.
@adamprocter Apple at least has a little bit of history in liking and supporting music and musicians. I think the people running Spotify are just awful.
@adamprocter Yeah, same here. Spotify has always seemed vaguely creepy and gross to me, and stuff like this helps me put specifics to my gut reaction.
@hutaffe funny ..I have never been tempted into the paid for Spotify fold ... but this might even take me away from their free product.
@stefp @adamprocter I got sceptical after I saw this thread on Twitter. The data they collect is really more than creepy. Also, there is still no official way to get all this information, despite GDPR.
@hutaffe I downloaded all the data Apple has on me including all the songs I had ever liked and so on. I didn’t find anything creepy.
@adamprocter I think it is time to take back personal media ownership. A monthly membership fee = on CD a month and install a media server... I have no idea why people embrace low bit rate streaming and renting music.
