I have scheduled Focus Screens throughout the day, and at 16:00, the Job Focus is supposed to be turned off and the Me-Time Focus is supposed to turn on, but it isn’t. Also Weekend focuses are displayed on weekdays. It’s maddening. Is it a time zone error(?)

@odd I've noticed bugs like this as well, and I only have one Focus that is attached to time (Sleep). This feels like one of those things I've noticed other people mention, amongst the summer beta-testers; this version of iOS is in bad shape, and it should get better between now and the next minor release.

This level of broken is not what I consider a premium experience at all.

@odd I’m experiencing this since upgrading to iOS 16 too… seems like every focus has to be reconfigured from scratch to get it working again.

@ArnoldHoogerwerf @SimonWoods Ugh! I deleted all my Focuses/Focii(?) and started over, with only Do Not Disturb. Maybe I’ll try again around iOS 16.5.

@odd I found that having Siri suggestions manage the contents of my Home Screen gives far better results than anything I can come up with using focus modes

@jeroensangers Really? I hadn’t thought about that. I’m going to let it be only Do Not Disturb or nothing for a while though, and hope the wrinkles get ironed out soon.

@odd My homescreen is basically two Siri suggestions widgets (and a stack of some informational widgets) and 95% of the time the app I want to use is directly available. When I go to the gym, Siri suggestions put my gym’s app and Notes (where I have information about my exercises) on the Home Screen. At night, my social media pop up. When I wake up, my health trackers are there. It’s magical.

@jeroensangers I didn’t even realize that this was possible. Are you saying that Siri knows from your usage experience what apps you use at different times of the day? I am playing around with the layout of my phone and might experiment with this.

@crossingthethreshold That’s right!

@odd On a somewhat related note, I am finding that the depth effect on the Home Screen is kind of hit and miss as to whether it works.

@jeroensangers Well I am going to give this a try. Thank you!

@jeroensangers I think I misunderstood you. I have a set Home Screen that I’m happy about, it’s only the background I’d like to have changed during the day, and aligned with Focus Modes to allow or deny certain people and apps that can give me notifications, (or not, rather).

@crossingthethreshold I haven’t tried that yet, I don’t think.

@odd If I’m not misunderstanding you, it can be done. I have different focus modes for day and night, and they have different wallpapers. I’m not enabling them at a specific time, but do it manually. When I pick the night mode, the wallpaper changes, and back to normal when I turn that focus mode off.

@odd I was finding it didn’t switch properly from work -> personal so added a 1min buffer, eg end work focus 5:00, start personal 5:01. That seems to be working.

@meandering Oh! I didn’t do that. I had work 08:00-16:00, and MyTime from 16:00. Maybe it was that… Thanks for letting me know!

@maique I really want it all to be automatically. I got many strange results. Maybe I’m just getting old. Idk. I think I’ll try again later. @meandering could be on to why it didn’t work for me.
