Feels odd here. I donāt write, donāt have a camera, donāt have a farm. I do talk to people a lot and get out and about on this stunning Hawaii island and I do listen to a lot of music.

@hawaiiboy Is there some way the rest of us could make it feel less odd for you? I see us as being a pretty diverse community ā not all writers or techies or photo takers. Many talk about music they listen to.
@Miraz Iām going to let in at the discover section more. Iāve been a member since app.net
@hawaiiboy I know what you mean. I'm increasingly anti-tech (if I disappear from here it will probably be because I've gone offline altogether), and the m.b. demographic definitely leans toward gear-lovers, Apple cultists, and devotees of note-taking and "workflow" systems. I'd encourage you to scan the Discover section often: there are knitters, hangers-out, and people just living regular lives in interesting parts of the world. Just as an example, I like your posts and the glimpses of life in HI, where I've never been.
@hawaiiboy I feel Odd here too! š¤Ŗ Itās a lot of overlap between many of the users interests, thatās for sure! I nonetheless find the diversity good enough to not have it feel like a special interest group. Now, I was on the tech side, and Iād like to be a writer, but Iām just as interested in music. Not a day go by without me playing music for an hour (or six). A lot of people here also like to talk with people with the same interest (sometimes), and thatās being amped with the āemoji topicsā. I have found a lot of new and (just as) interesting people through browsing the Discovery section and by checking who a person follows, that I am not. If youād like to find new people, I think I follow around 1200. I just saw the other day that @johnphilpin follows ~2500 that Iām not. I might follow more of āhisā people. I wish that I could unfollow inactive accounts in bulk thoughā¦
@hawaiiboy People in Micro.blog like to blog. Thatās our common interest. Donāt overthink it. If you like to blogāeven just a littleāyou fit in. š
@mjdescy @hawaiiboy Thatās a great formulation. I would also add that they like to read interesting blog posts too, and enjoy learning about new things from other bloggers.
@hawaiiboy Err...I have been enjoying your posts and even the photos that you post. I have followed you for a long time now and even through your car salesman days in the recent past. Also, this is micro blog and your writing is just fine.
@hawaiiboy I donāt write, I donāt have a camera, I certainly donāt have a farm, and I like to read your micro blogs. š
@hawaiiboy I share photos from my phone with low quality, write things that are not groundbreaking, but I love this community because it's not about who writes better or who takes the better photo, it's about sharing, learning with others and having a glimpse of life in other parts of the world. And everyone is so nice and open! Also, I don't think there's a more supportive community when you need it :-) I've been following you for a while and I'm always glad to read what you post :-)
@ohBananaJoe Exactly. I like your posts too, @hawaiiboy although I didnāt say in my first post in the thread. Hawaii is so different from where I live, so itās always exciting to see stuff from there. I thought about commenting on the picture of your dad with the computer, but hesitated, because I didnāt know the situation.
@hawaiiboy Iāll just leave my agreement with this right here, from @mjdescy:
āPeople in Micro.blog like to blog. Thatās our common interest.ā

@hawaiiboy say it aināt so ā¦ I donāt have any data - just a feeling ā¦ but you must be one of my more regular people that I find myself in exchanges with.. Ex Maui boy - that likes to het the HI perspective - even if from a different island - commentary - music ā¦ rarely does what you say seem odd ā¦
@hawaiiboy I donāt get much in the way of conversation out here. I do like it as a blogging platform and thatās been good enough for me.
