Punkt is a company that I’m fascinated by. Certainly not for everyone. Their new MP02 mobile phone and Alarm Clock have me thinking of a world without an iPhone? Shut your mouth!

@kaa same! I spent far too many hours going down the rabbit hole of dumb phones and eventually ran across them. Gorgeous devices.
@nathanrhale I am talking myself into it. This phone is a long term investment. 10 years maybe? Buy it now and use it until 4G no longer works (similar to the MP01 which is 2G powered). The design hasn't changed. Taken in that context, it's 'cheap'.
@kaa 10 years would certainly be a good deal, if it truly was that durable, and you did succumb to the siren song of a new phone for an entire decade! I doubt I could keep it that long though.
@nathanrhale @kaa @bradbarrish I've been really interested in this phone, too, but nervous to try. Do share about it if you get it!
@toddgrotenhuis The light phone is also super cool. Love the looks of that one. There’s also the Palm Companion phone. Still a smart phone, but the small size would discourage a lot of browsing I think. Meanwhile you still have a decent camera you. And it’s 1/3rd the price of the cool minimalist phone so there’s that.
@kaa I've been this close to getting one of those. It's entirely irrational but still. I even bought the first Light Phone but almost never used it so there's no good reason to get the Punkt. Still tempted.
@jack I’m trying to work out if this has a place in my life or not. I decided not to buy an iPhone this year and stick with my trusty 6s. Having said that being more purposeful with my screen time is important and this is a way to do just that...funnily enough I think I’d miss the flashlight feature on my phone a lot!?
@nathanrhale I had trouble forwarding to it for some reason, which meant a new number, which meant bothering people with my new number. Also, I wanted a "dumb" phone but the Light Phone was too dumb, maybe.
@jack Makes sense. I like the idea of it, but not if it’s a hassle. Kind of misses the point!
