@danielpunkass Is there any way to incorporate Micro.blog's crossposting options into MarsEdit? I am picturing a checkbox for each, maybe at the bottom of the composer, options based on what we've enabled on Micro.Blog.

@markstoneman Not as of yet. It would require an expansion to the API that MarsEdit uses to post to Micro.blog. Not a bad idea, though. @manton
@danielpunkass @markstoneman Happy to work on this if you want, Daniel. The API is easy enough, probably adding a UI in MarsEdit is the hard part. (Could be similar to checkboxes for categories?)
@manton @danielpunkass @markstoneman That would definitely make me use MarsEdit more often for posting to Micro.blog. Brownie points if we get it for the micropost window
@pratik @manton @danielpunkass @markstoneman I'd love this. I use Mars Edit for longer posts. This feature would make me much more likely to use it for all posts, long or short.
@manton @danielpunkass cross posting selection would be terrific. Often when I’m about to make a post I can suddenly decide to not post to Mastodon & so I have to head to the micro.blog app or web.
@manton I bet some smart person who writes Drafts actions could take advantage of this change in API too. That would be awesome for when on the go.
@markstoneman We already have a Drafts Action that lets you pick destinations for crossposting and categories before you publish. For good measure, it lets you schedule posts as well and later even update the post (via Drafts) if you want to.
@pratik I knew too little about Micro.blog's crossposting functionality when I first saw that one. Thank you for bringing me back to it. I'll definitely use it on iOS/iPadOS. (But I have never been able to use the Mac version with any degree of comfort. I just have it there as a bridge to my mobile devices.)
@pratik So the weird way the main window (re)sizing works and interacts with the trays on either side when opening or closing them hasn't made you stumble? That's the part I stumble on when trying to use the app for work on the Mac.
@markstoneman I don't understand. You mean, the window for Drafts. The trays can take a bit of getting used to but I usually write in focus mode and unroll the righthand side tray to use the Actions to edit and publish.
@pratik I've never gotten used to that. Maybe it's just too many years of expectations getting in the way. I suppose one workaround would be for me to write down a cheatsheet of keybaord shortcuts. So far, I haven't developed enough habits with the app to get to that point.
@markstoneman tbh, I love Bear and iA Writer for the writing experience but Drafts' actions allow for so much customization. I've settled into a workflow now. I didn't warm up to Drafts the first time I used it and even stopped using it.
@markstoneman so i got over that by creating a bunch of shortcuts rather than the tray.
I have more now, but this was the start of that journey.
@kaa @markstoneman That’s similar to what I do on iOS too. But not much useful on the Mac, right?
@kaa Yeah, I prolly shoud do the same.
