Losing my patience after another rejection for Inkwell. This is a nice app for people to read blogs. I’m not trying to trick anyone or take over the world. Apple is out to lunch with their tight control.
I don’t even want discovery in the store. I just want to let my existing users install an app.
@manton I once had a tiny single purpose app on Android and iOS - Apple rejected it as it didn’t have enough features so I played the ‘Android users seem to like it?’ - no response but accepted 🤷♂️
@manton Apple’s authoritarian control over app distribution on their devices is a huge liability for power users and developers. Investors who see this control as an ability to mint money are not seeing the whole picture: all of the amazing apps that never got built or released due to Apple’s paranoia. So much squandered potential.
@manton have you requested a call? Iirc it did the trick for Casey/Callsheet? It worked for me in the past too to discuss a misconception of the guidelines / the app's implementation with a sympathetic person from App Review
@manton I used to have my fair share of those and it is just enraging. I remember when I released my first Mac app. It was the first time I built an app rather than a website and felt free.
I know there’s a lot of safety concerns with it but sometimes I truly feel like hosting a DMG on a website is just so much better.

@manton A long time ago as part of my PhD I was playing with Swift but my app was rejected as it didn’t have enough features. It was a distraction free app to grab ideas on the go. Helped me solidify building web stuff and then local-first.
