@manton Wondering: Is it intentional that there are no "X favorited your post" notification in micro.blog? Or did you just not yet get around to it? I always found that a good way to provide positive feedback on posts...

@uliwitness It's intentional. I think keeping favorites private has encouraged people to reply to posts more often. However, there have been a couple discussions about providing another way for feedback, maybe similar to Slack reactions. Hope to experiment with that soon.

@simon Thanks. I've followed what they've done closely. I really like the "boost" implementation they came up with in Basecamp.

@simon Thank you! Also good that you linked that podcast again because I'm sure it's worth a re-listen.

@manton @uliwitness Will heartily endorse the "keep favorites private" option. I really think it has been integral to the supportive, vocal community here.

@simon Thanks for recommending this podcast. I haven’t heard of it before, but I like DHH and the ideas behind Rework. πŸ‘πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ

@manton Yeah, reactions would work as well. Although then you'd get into problems like on Twitch, where they had an advertising tie-in with a chicken roaster and apparently chicken is also a racist slur.

But would be great to be able to react with things like happy/shocked/sad/thumbs up/thumbs down, and maybe numbers (for polls).

@uliwitness Come to think of it, even "thumbs down" should probably not be in there.
