@manton the timing in this and the IndieAuth stuff is great! JUST discovered all of this yesterday, and now these posts. 😁 Wondering though...it seems I need to add a Microsub link in the Header to make this all work. Is that something that can be done now?

@manton Great. Thanks!

@jhull Micro.blog doesn't support Microsub right now since the specification is still evolving. We could add a way to link to an external Microsub server, though. I'll look into it.

@manton I am interested to learn how folks will use the footer HTML.

@manton Love the redirects, welcome addition. Not sure how much use the HTML footer access is. I would much rather access to the HTML in a similar fashion to how something like Blot provides that for you. Not sure if this is a stop-gap to providing more complete access in the future - or if this is one of those lack of features on purpose (to limit how much fiddling one can make to their sites)?

@manton I'm noticing that when I create a page that redirects to an outside link, then I rename that page, both pages are showing up. Example: I currently have "Books" and "My Books." The latter is the renamed page. Will wait to see if it self-resolves, but FYI.

@cheri Thanks for letting me know. It should fix itself. I'll try to make this update faster in the future.

@manton The old guy needs examples to see what he might get with these options. AND I think everyone should consider getting a hosted account, whether they need one or not.

@Ron Thanks! One example of a page redirecting somewhere else would be if you wanted a link in your microblog's navigation that took the reader directly to another site you maintain, or an account on another social network, etc.

@kaa Well it’s HTML & JS right, so could conceivably throw in Analytics or such, which I think is the real purpose, not so much styling.

@Chirag Necessity is the mother of invention. Challenge accepted sir!

@kaa maybe someone could hack up a bit of JS that would replace the entire body html. pretty basic stuff, really. (correct me if i’m wrong @manton) JS seems to be allowed/encouraged.

@kaa I want to allow more customization later. Going a little slowly to make sure we don't introduce any problems.

@manton totally get it. The truth is I was being somewhat reactive (my brain hadn’t processed the possibilities available). You have resolved one of my major gripes (or at least given me the option of resolving it), which I will roll out soon and couldn’t have done it before
