It’s easy to be blinded by past decisions. I took a fresh look at our pricing this weekend and ran some numbers. Going to try to simplify things even further. (No price increase. $5 is the ideal price for all things, from a latte to blog hosting.)

@manton it's ok to make some money, too. Not asking for price increase, but... consider providing a way to become "a believer / ambassador / etc." who could contribute on a punctual basis.
@manton Would love to hear more about this on your podcast, seems like an interesting and evergreen topic
@numericcitizen Thank you. I've resisted a sort of "supporter" tier because I'd rather just make Micro.blog Premium as valuable as possible to more people. Not ruling it out forever, just want my focus to be on making the platform better.
@manton Pricing is so hard to get right!
I love that you call out the importance of looking back on price decisions with an eye towards simplifying things for customers. Seems extra important as a small, bootstrapped, business—do you plan on writing more about it when you’ve sorted it all out?
@manton Even when I don’t use it for months at a time, I never have a qualm when I see the receipt roll in at $5/month. But I probably would at $50/year. Yes, I am good at math!
@jakelacaze It's a great question. I'd love to do more to support themes and plug-ins especially.
