Hello, photo bloggers! I created a new plug-in that replaces your home page with a grid of photos and links for your other pages. No post text on the home page. Hope it’s a good start for people who want to go all-in on photos. Called simply “Home page photos”.

@manton AWESOME! Can I customize the theme like any other theme? I want to remove the "Follow at Micro.blog" links.

Mostly coz I want to use it on my photo blog, which is not linked to my MB presence for the outside world.

@pratik You can hide that with CSS... Paste something like this in Design → Edit CSS: .me .description { display: none; }

@manton Ah! That worked. Looks alright. But I think I have to be more consistent with the photo aspect/size that I upload coz the layout has quite a few gaps. Any way to display the photos uniformly without diminishing the resolution? BTW the layout is not responsive coz if you reduce the browser width, it messes it up.

@pratik I'm going to work on making it responsive. For the gaps, I think we can fix that... It's using the Masonry layout library but I'm not familiar with the right settings to make that work yet without gaps.

@manton Cool. This is a fantastic start. Also, perhaps need a navigation link to go to the next page of the 'front page' or make it an endless scroll like on Glass, loading images only as you scroll. Thanks a ton for working on this.

I need to figure out how to apply a IMG css to only the 'On This Day' page. I also see how I can use the same fonts, color, and other CSS elements on the sidebar elements of the new front page.

@manton soooo, in theory I could have a second blog and replace any theme with just this, and be just a grid of photos with no links to written posts. I presume?

@Gaby That how I'm using it for my photoblog hosted on MB.

@Gaby Yep! It works with any theme, and the individual post pages will still use that theme. You can also still have text posts, they just won't show up on the home page.

@manton nice! I’m playing with it on my test blog… so far the don’t show as a grid more like, instagram style… perhaps is because I don’t have that many photos? But yeah, my idea is to have a dedicated blog for just photos no text lists whatsoever. Also noticed that if I upload multiple ones, it only shows the first photo

@Gaby I could change it to include all photos in a post, or maybe make it a setting.
