@manton I updated a post from weeks ago.
Personally I don't think editability at all is a good thing for trust on platform, and when it's allowed it should force an explanation (like a commit message)
Be less Elon
@warner This is a bug I intend to fix this week, because the Mac edits replies differently than the web/iOS which restricts to only the last 24 hours. I'm also planning a version log so that edit history can be examined. Fixing typos is great but I'm definitely mindful of the potential abuse.
@manton I'm loving the Bookshelves additions! Now, to actually write reviews of the last couple of books I read....
@manton Very nicely done! I'm warming up to the Mac app (versus just using the web app) and the added functionality definitely helps.
@ptrck Feel free to use whatever you prefer. I tend to use the Mac app most of the time but I pop over to the web version for some things.
@manton Request: Really need keyboard formatting shortcuts on the web version, and for them to be on par with the apps. It would also help people on Windows or Linux who don't have the official apps.
@uncertainquark Thanks for the reminder, I'll look into this again. I think we can mostly make it match the Mac app keyboard shortcuts with maybe different modifier keys.
@cdevroe That's odd... If you don't mind, I'm going to try sending a couple test replies to that post so I can see what is happening.
@cdevroe I've fixed the Webmentions. Feel free to delete my test replies on your blog. Not sure yet whether I can re-send the missed notifications.
@manton I realize you may spend June addressing stability (I'm all for that!). But if I could recommend a macOS app update: The ability to find the Micro.blog URL for a post from the app.
@cdevroe I'd like to add some context menu options on Mac so there can be more flexibility there. In the meantime, you can choose "Open" and then copy the URL from your browser.
@cdevroe There's not. Not by design, just one of those areas that we never got to (and rarely hear about).
@manton are there any plans for a gesture on the macOS app for opening conversations from the timeline? (maybe swipe left like on the iOS app?) You can go back to the timeline by swiping right from the conversation view, but I'd love to be able to view conversations more easily. Thanks!
@jordon I think I had tried swipe to view conversation and it seemed wrong to me for some reason... I can try it again, though, it's been a while.
@manton @cdevroe I have asked for this before, though at the minute Micro.blog is still generally geared for more casual use; most people won't think to ask for "power user" features and so they don't gather as much noise in the way other requests can.
For example: my feature request for this exact feature on GitHub and my other Issues on GitHub.
I would assume that over time most Micro.blog members don't use GitHub at all, let alone look at the Micro.blog repos, so I'm going to stop using it for feature requests in particular. Much better to post in the Help forum where other people are more likely to see the post and possibly support the request.
@manton Thanks! it's that muscle memory from the iOS app and Tweetbot (on all platforms) that's doing me in
