@amit I am finding that the checkbox for "Hide category list on Archive page" in Paper's settings is not working. I've just noticed it. I had it selected, so I tried to de-select it and back again after a short pause, but no difference. I was going to create a custom template to 'flip' the setting, but realized that I did not know what to do.

@crossingthethreshold that's odd. Because I do have it disabled on my site and it shows the categories. Did you try a rebuild after turning it off?

@crossingthethreshold I just checked. I see the category on your Archive page 🤔

@amit I didn't try a rebuild. I shall do.

@JohnPhilpin Yes and you shouldn’t be able to. @amit included a setting in the Paper theme that allows you to turn off being able to see categories on the Archive page.

@crossingthethreshold aah - wrong way round - got it.

@crossingthethreshold Something for sure is weird with the archive pages. Even my customizations with the archive page have been overridden. Basically irrespective of whether theme provides the page, it is loading one from default. This looks to be a similar issue with @pratik and @gaby.

Any idea @manton? Has anything changed?

@manton How can we fix this at our end? Currently, @amit's theme that @crossingthethreshold and I use have the archive template at layouts/list.archivehtml.html(I think).

@manton I suppose this is related: A day or two ago I noticed that my Archive and Photos pages were blank. The pages showed up but with no content. Was using Tufte. I switched to a different theme for the time being. It's not affecting the Lanyon theme. @pimoore: When I visit your site I do not see content on your Archive page, so it's affecting Tufte. I thought it was just me for some reason. @pratik @amit

@pratik @manton I'm throwing my hat (and site) into this particular question. My archive template is located there, as well. I'm using a custom version of the Kiko theme.

@dandycat @pratik Copy your template to the new location: "layouts/_default/list.archivehtml.html" (note the "_default" in the path that's new). I'll be migrating everything automatically soon, but you can copy/paste your own template in the meantime.

@manton I just looked at Hitchens which I’m running on my test site—which doesn’t have the archive page under layouts/_default—but it’s still working? Will this change you’re making to copy the templates apply to all the themes or do some of the newer ones like Tufte need manual intervention for now?

@crossingthethreshold it should work now. Don't think you need to do anything.

@amit After a day sitting with the changes, and also moving my podcast over to the the Paper theme, I can confirm that it is working as expected. Thank you.

@manton Just to confirm, should I apply the fix to the theme? I mean move the Archive page to _default folder? Or with your change, there's no need for that?

@amit No need, but I would suggest moving it when you have time.
