Micro.blog 2.0 is rolling out with updates for the web, iOS, and macOS. It’s a lot of little (and big!) changes at once, so I’ll be watching for any launch day quirks. Thanks for your support!

@Mtt I’m updating the help, but in the meantime this video is a good introduction.
@manton 🍻yay!
One thing I noticed in Mac app, the label for bookmarking is still “Favorite when tapping on a post.
@manton This is super nice update, really, really impressive. I’m tempted to say it’s massive improvement, but that might sound dismissive of what you had built previously. Congratulations!
@Mtt Bookmarks and highlights are currently private (although archived web pages are public). We could consider an option for this later.
@manton Congratulations! I particularly like that new posts are now composed in standalone windows on the Mac.
@manton Congrats! Looks awesome! Nice work!
Where can I find the bookmarklet for bookmarking articles from the web?
@manton I think the option to “embed” is just as powerful, especially since using Quotebacks. BUT I would need that on mobile and it doesn’t appear to be an option there.
@manton Congrats on the release. Updating macOS app was so easy! I noticed one thing though I am on dark mode and my sidebar has the colors mized up. I will send you a screenshot on help@micro.blog
@manton Congrats on the update!
It’s funny though because I’m all in with Gluon so it isn’t noticeable for now.
@manton Thanks! Any plans to create a separate share sheet action for bookmarking? I am pretty much iOS only and I use the current Micro.blog share sheet for posting links. I definitely want a separate bookmarking one, for bookmarking links within other apps, and would prefer to not have to try and create one with Shortcuts
@brucegodin Maybe. I thought it might be confusing to have 2 share sheets… But if there’s interest I’ll experiment with it.
@manton +1 for this idea. The GoodLinks Read later app has a good impementation of a single share sheet that can be tapped to bring up extra options, or have a customer choose to quickly save each time, without having to get bogged down by extra options
@maique I think 24h display might be the oldest feature request I still haven’t gotten to. I need to move to Europe so I’m reminded more often. 🙂 Just kidding, it’s on the list and I’ll get it finished soon.
@manton Ok. Thanks. In the meantime I will try to figure out how to make one myself. Let me know Manton, and anyone else, if someone creates one
Posts in macOS app - @manton i’ve noticed some issues with how the Posts are displayed in the macOS app - compared to how they are displayed on the web.
@manton The web version looks great! Haven’t seen the iOS and macOS apps yet but looking forward to it… 👍
@manton On the Mac app, under Bookmarks, on an Archived Bookmark… the label says “Read: URL”… Might I suggest “Read archived: URL”. ? This way it is obvious that you’re going to the archived URL and not the original URL.
@cdevroe Thanks, I experimented with a few different words there and may still change it again. I agree it’s not as clear as it could be (but hopefully becomes obvious after the first click).
@manton What determines whether an archive will be created or not? I’ve been playing, and some articles have a cached version built, but others do not. What is the trigger? Also, I’d love two share extensions for bookmark and post.
@canion It should create a cached version for everything you bookmark. Possibly there was an error downloading the web page? If you can, send me a few details to help@micro.blog and I’ll investigate. (Noted about the share extensions, thanks!)
