I’m exhausted of the attacks. After a nice morning with friends, I had to rush back to my mom’s bedside at rehab to hold her hand, talking to the doctor, all while people online were again questioning my integrity. I’ve said this before: you don’t know what people are going through. Give them space.

@manton Not going to lie, this reminds me of the worst of blogging from the early 2000s. I remember, because i was there, but yeah, this is where (for your own mental health), you turn off comments or block people and move on with your life.

Try to put them out of your mind. So sorry to hear about your mom. I hope the treatment is successful. Well done to you for being there for her. Time spent with her is important and what you’ll remember most and look back on.
@dfgomes @manton The problem is that sometimes you can be too nice, and sometimes you can give people too much of the benefit of the doubt. Rather than de-platform a transphobic agitator, Bluesky changed their ToS so they “wouldn’t have to” and then Bluesky’s CEO made fun of someone asking why that agitator wasn’t banned by equating their transphobia to a simple difference of opinion. No matter how nice they’ve been otherwise, no decent person will support that.
