@crossingthethreshold @kaa I use Typora mostly because i have lots of tables and they look nicer. I also have “table flip” in the mix to edit them. But I’ve been toying with the idea of pointing Marked at my notes folder.
@crossingthethreshold yeah that’s a good question. See I don’t use The Archive for that for that sort of thing. I use it to take notes about everything and everything, but not as a place for longer pieces that I care about what they ultimately look like - for that I have always relied on iA Writer. I imagine Marked would be the best bet for that sort of thing, although MultiMarkdown Composer is another solid app as well.
@crossingthethreshold @kaa sorry for the intrusion in the conversation but I’m curious as what your thoughts are. Why iA Writer over , lets say, Ulysses?
@crossingthethreshold @Gabz iA just hits the right notes for me. So far it's a company that has done the right moves (except the Dropbox integration thing on iOS that I still don't understand). Not having many options (fonts/colours/etc) is part of their feature. They have a strong opinion about things and generally I agree with them. When I want something more flexibile I go into something like Highland or Sublime Editor (or my recent favourite web text editor, Brackets).

@JohnPhilpin @kaa @crossingthethreshold what’s funny tho, it’s that no matter which I usually use Drafts for my writing, either Ulysses or iA Writer would be for long time storage.
@Gabz oh yes - forgot about Drafts - which is THE place where most of it starts - great for capturing on the fly on phone and mac - and then it moves to where it is going to be finished ... which is rarely in drafts
@crossingthethreshold i actually edit in Typora. Sometimes and keep The Archive for the indexing and search. IIRC Table Flip is not cheap, but frankly worth it. I maintain a few “reference tables” in my notes and would be lost without it. Hopefully at point The Archive and TF will tightly integrate ...
