@manton, one useful feature for MB would be the ability to edit the cross-posting message. At least for the post with title, the default is Post Title: link-to-the-post, which feels bit too minimalistic. I'd love to be able to add some more meat to the bones there, so to speak. Or am I missing some meta tag in my theme, which would add description to the mix, somehow? 😁
@juha Thanks. You’re not missing anything. We’ve thought about using a summary but right now it’s just the title.
@manton Description from meta tags in post would be nice. Even better, if it would be possible to see and edit the cross-post message that get's sent out to Mastodon, Threads and Bluesky for example. Probably through the post edit view, where you get to select where that particular post is cross-posted. Not sure how that would work for Medium cross-posts though 🤔😛
@kjz Great suggestions there! Thanks for the detailed post! Using meta for descriptions etc. would sure seem like a great idea on MB feed too. I'm also using them on my templates, so would be the least effort path from my perspective. Maybe at some point? 😁🙏
@juha I absolutely love this idea, just adding an editable field would be such a user-friendly way to deal with this, leaving the field blank could continue to just post the title.

It would fit very nicely in the post publishing workflow, I feel ☺️ I guess the default could be that it takes the description etc. from theme meta tags (og:description for example), but if you edit the field before publishing / cross-posting, that edited description would take preference.
Then there's also the post image meta (og:image for example). Maybe user could choose a social share image from this view as well (default again would be to take it straight from the theme meta). This image would then take preference over the image meta tags in theme, if set.
And so forth. Both would be nice, but especially the custom description I'd like to see at some point ☺️
