I wrote a @Draftsapp action that looks for hashtagged text in the draft and adds it as a tag for that draft. This draft is available in the action directory here.

The action directory shows the script, but a little explanation was sent to the newsletter subscribers.

@kjaymiller This is VERY cool. I'm also intrigued by what you’re doing with mood journalling. How do you review for trends over time?

@jsamlarose Great question! I created a workspace that allows me to look at the mood entries over time.

Drafts labels allow me to filter results if I'm looking for a special mood.

@kjaymiller This is amazing, journaling in drafts is something I hadn’t thought about. So you also post this somewhere? If not, how easy it is to maintain and rewind?

@amit 🤔 I haven't thought about review outside of filtering by emotion.

I think I'll modify the action to include tags for the year, month and day of the week, I could also tag morning afternoon and evening.

Thanks for the inspiration!!

@amit also I only store these in drafts but often will take the text to make blog posts like this one (my first meh moment on meds)

@bradbarrish hey thanks. I don’t do it all the time but I often think I need to remember this moment and putting it in drafts quickly makes it much easier.

@kjaymiller mmm. Keen to try this. I've tried tracking mood in various ways (Reporter.app, Nomie, Daytum etc) and nothing has ever really stuck. I do write/journal consistently, though...

@kjaymiller now wondering how easy it would be to work with some simple csv/tsv compatible formatting and on-the-fly merging of "mood" drafts as a basis for charting... hmmm

@kjaymiller *facepalm— actually, seeing mood drafts in a workspace + other filtering as referenced in your other posts would be enough to discern and examine trends. Now even more keen to get something like this up and running. Thanks!

@jsamlarose I haven’t tried but in my mind I see how the Drafts action could go.

You can run a search for all items with the mood journal (and other filtering) tag.

That returns an array which you could merge into a string and export formatted to a csv.

May try this. 🤔
