@KimberlyHirsh @pratik @uliwitness I view emoji reactions as kind of a middle-ground between likes and actual short replies, although they lean more on the side of likes. Takes a little more thought and effort. But it’s a great question. I wouldn’t put numbers on the emoji, for sure.

@manton @KimberlyHirsh @pratik I was wondering whether I want numbers on Emoji reactions. I see a point being made about avoiding encouragement of dopamine-chasing. But just for me, I enjoy knowing "this was one friend reacting" or "this has taken off". Given favorites already show a list of who favorited them (implying a count), if it worked like that, I'd be fine.

@manton I like the way Basecamp has implemented this with their “Boosts”, which gives you the possibility to reply with emojis and/or a very short text. If I remember it correctly you get about 10-15 characters.

This way, Boosts can be used to give feedback without being an actual reply.
