For the last few weeks I have been spending a stupid amount of time trying to choose a practical daily watch. With my iPhone relegated as a tool I use on occasion and for very specific things, I find myself wondering what time it is more regularly with no instant way of knowing this mos... www.kaa.bz

@kaa I would be very interested in following you on this hunt, or maybe more specifically, hearing what you unearth and what your final decision is. I have a watch that spends most of its life in a draw now. At home I use clocks on the wall, my computer if I am on it, or my phone. My phone serves me when I am out, occaisionally I'll wear my watch. But I have always loved a well made watch. I find them beautiful to look at aside from their practical usage. I don't spend much time these days exploring watches, and so I don't really know what is out there. That's why I'd be interested to hear what you unearth. Happy searching.

@kaa @crossingthethreshold I never expected it but my Apple Watch has become almost indispensable!

It was a gift, one of those “ideal gifts” (ideal gift: something you’d like to have but would never buy for yourself) from someone special, so that’s how I ended up with it.

@kaa I feel you… There are many options available and most of them are more or lest the same… a typical case of Analysis paralysis.

Let me make your choice a little more complicated by presenting you my favourite watch: the Slow Watch. It is like many other watches, but completely different in other ways. Most people either love it (like I do) or don't understand it.

@jeroensangers analysis paralysis. Sooo true. Now you got me looking into how to break free from this! Slow Watch looks good, except isnt practical for me I dont think. I certainly dont care if it 12:38 or 12:42 but I do care for quarters of hour I think :)

@kaa Like I said, it isn’t for everyone. By the way, you can clearly distinguish the quarter hours and, if you look more closely, get to 5 minutes precision.

@jeroensangers part two of the search coming up :), with the criteria.

@kaa A good watch is a beautiful thing to behold. I like them all, especially the Swatch & Certina.
