It’s exciting to be part of a platform that’s still defining itself, even though it means that as a community *member* rather than a dev or leader, you feel as if you’re whispering into the dark at times. Who’s at the other end of this line? Who’s listening?

@jsamlarose It takes a little while. Replying to other people tends to prime the pump. Soon, you won't be able to shut this motley crowd up!

(Reflexively, I tried to tap "Like" or "Heart" on so many of these responses. I have spent too much time over on FB and Twitter today due to political discussions, and I forgot!)

@jsamlarose everyone here listens, though may not trigger a discussion right away. So don't worry. Community is known to churn out threads which just don't die down :-)

@vasta thanks! So here's the funny thing: the questions I'd posed ("who's listening?") were actually more rhetorical than anything else— a couple of out-loud musings. But the range of warm and unexpected responses has actually shifted the way I think/feel about Micro.blogs. Nice!

@macgenie like/heart: yes! When I posted that first thought, I was drafting something about the pressure to perform identity and interaction on social networks. The lack of hearts/likes here has a really interesting impact on the way interaction can be enacted and appraised...
