A great developer can come from anywhere is one of my favourite pieces of writing. Whenever I revisit it the better part of my brain, full with better decision-making and clarity of thought, is given the jolt it needs.

@SimonWoods Thank you. I havenât read that in years and still think it might be one of my better posts. At the time, I got some pushback on the ârespectfulâ phrase and wish I had left it out. Itâs the one part that I would change, but I decided it would be equally wrong to edit it after many people had read it. Wouldnât be a blog post if it didnât have some flaws⌠Weâre human. đ
@SimonWoods I forgot about this post. I read it at the time, and it gave me an opening to strike up a conversation with @manton at Release Notes. I knew him from WWDC socializing, but hadn't really talked to him before that conference. You never know where a chance conversation might lead...
@manton @SimonWoods This is a great post, and I love how it can apply to almost any kind of creation.
@jean It's hard to believe that Release Notes was 7 years ago... I'm ready for another one if they ever decide to get back into conferences.
