@KimberlyHirsh I agree that the family drama thing seems out of place for the Addams Family. And I get the other criticisms as well. Honestly, the whole show is carried by how perfectly Jenny Ortega plays the role. Almost nothing else matters at that point. :)

@KimberlyHirsh having not been a big fan of The Adams Family growing up, I find it pretty easy to accept Wednesday as a stand alone character. And the actress playing her is pitch perfect. I love her as an uber feminist character with just a touch of vulnerability.

@mbkriegh sorry to eavesdrop but omg the dance sequence in Wednesday was one of the best things I’ve seen on TV in a long time. Girlfriend can Cut. A. Rug. I wasn’t a huge fan of the series, I like the comic because it’s obscure, and I LOVE the 90s movies especially the 2nd one.

@mbkriegh Yeah, I think it makes sense that if you're not as attached to the family as a whole, this might work better for you. I think she's definitely the best character to be in a standalone show.

@UndamnedOne eavesdrop away! Happy to have the interaction. I have to go back and re-watch the first season as I was in the kitchen doing holiday baking while my wife, a big Adams Family fan, was watching. Missed the dance sequence completely!

@mbkriegh oh it was amazing and I just learned she choreographed it herself because of course she did. Here’s a taste of the scene on YouTube (spoiler alert?):
