@monday I have always felt intimidated by chess, but I know some folks in the community like to play. I’m open to any tips for people wanting to get started.

@monday @jean I love chess, I just don’t get any real opportunity to play.

@monday I’ve long been fascinated by the game, and I’m trying to play and learn more. I’m also currently enjoying watching Magnus Carlsen’s attempt to win his first World Cup. I saw him play once (at the FIDE Candidates tournament in 2013), and I’ll never forget it. Find me as zioibi on chess.com if you play there!

@monday so I used to play on board #1 at primary school (I did better at competitions against other schools... emotions would get better of me at school comps)!, though the standard got way better at secondary school. Played little as an adult though, coincidentally, I've been playing some games as a 'guest' in recent days on chess.com

Fun fact: I played the (allegedly) best girl in the country for her age bracket, twice, in competition. Lost both times, but I had a real chance in one of them 😆

@adam Are you still playing chess? I've just joined chess.com and lichess ("clorgie" on both) and in hopes of actually improving, I am always looking for longer rapid (or even longer) games.

@clorgie honestly, I haven't played for a while! Send me a friend request on chess.com though (@zioibi) and next time I'm over there I'll look you up!
