Hello from Spain! Just arrived and found a nice little coffee shop in Cádiz. How did I get here…? I recorded a new episode of Timetable to share the first part of my trip. 🇪🇸

@jthingelstad 👋 Enjoying your photos! I’m looking forward to Barcelona later too. My first time in Spain.
@manton Cadiz is a treasure. Check out the tower with the camera obscura they have there 😊
@manton Was wondering when I saw you show up at the top of my blogroll what’s Manton doing up so early, hoping everything is okay, and Spain this time of year must be the best. Enjoy! 😉
@manton oh, you’re so damn close of my little corner in Europe! The Portuguese border is just a few km away. Enjoy the neat water front of Cádiz!
@manton neat trip! What’d you take for recording audio on the trip or is that just right into your iPhone?
@manton Love this photo! I missed traveling and photography. I used to be a hobby photographer, taking many photos during my travels and while living in DC. Lastly, I’ve always wanted to visit Spain!
@iChris Just using AirPods! I have a tiny mic but it’s lightning connector, didn’t pack it this trip. I usually run my audio through Auphonic to clean it up.
@manton That’s great you get a holiday, even if you are still working. I love Spain. I hope you have a great time!
@adamprocter That was Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap. They played it during the ice skating (with a bunch of other songs).
@manton Fun! I enjoyed the little podcast too. Might have to start adding little snippets to my travel posts—heading to Boston in a couple days.
@manton Oh, I’m jealous! I’ve wanted to go to Cádiz since reading The Siege by Arturo Perez Reverte.
@manton I’m in flight to an adventure of my own and just listened to your audio postcard from sea. Wonderful! Your hard work has been evident to is all. So glad you are enjoying an exploration outside your day-to-day life in Texas.
I visited Barcelona (in the early 2000’s) and had an epically great time. The city feels so open, maybe because the corners of many street blocks are beveled off. Beautiful churches, the street food, the nightlife (we accidentally walked into a rave), all the stone and iron. Enjoy! Tho be prepared that they sort of don’t care that they’re on the coast.
@manton Yay!
