Is there a Twitter client that allows you to cut Twitter’s feature set to the following?

@bjhess Drafts has a “tweet” action, to send your text to Twitter. If you find something that has the other requirements you are seeking, I would love to hear about it.

@jean Failing an app, one thought I had was:

  • Make a micro.blog twitter category
  • Place any micro posts that I want to send to Twitter in this twitter category
  • Grab the twitter category's RSS URL
  • Add the "twitter RSS URL" to micro.blog's Account > Feeds section
  • Set the twitter feed to cross-post to Twitter
  • Hope this doesn't lead to duplicate micro.blog posts for the posts to which I assign the twitter category

@bjhess Oh, interesting. Tagging @manton, because he would know whether this could work.

@bjhess @jean It almost works but there is a limitation in Micro.blog (which we'd like to fix) where the same post can't be included in multiple feeds under Account → Edit Feeds, otherwise cross-posting doesn't work consistently. So right now you would need to have 2 feeds on your account: 1 with just tweets, and 1 with everything except tweets. A few people have tried this and it ends up being a lot of trouble.

@manton @jean Ah, thanks for the details. I kind of assumed there be dragons, but good to know for sure!

@zioibi Thanks! That’s a good option I’ll have to check out. Using that coupled with disciplined “log in once a week to check for replies” might not be too bad.
