I am disabling cross-posting to Mastodon and Twitter. It still feels weird pushing the exact same nonsense to three different platforms every single time. I’ll do it by hand if needed. I’d love for Micro.blog to allow for more granular (per-post, per-service) x-posting.

@jack I did the same after coming back. Also allows to better “curate” different channels.

@jack I’ve always felt that way about cross posting and have done it manually, when appropriate, since the start.

I second your motion to add a more granular option.

@jack I second the motion for a blog posting "switch board." My guess is that if such a thing were to be built it would be via a third party rather than a particular blog platform. For example, I can use Drafts to post to micro.blog and Wordpress, I can imagine an action where I select "Post" and Drafts prompts me for where I what to post the Draft and I select check boxes for the destinations that I want.

@frankm I have different Drafts actions for these scenarios. As I see it, public posts (anything online) have tiers. Sometimes it can go to my page, sometimes it's for Mastodon/Twitter, sometimes it's only for my private digital journal.

@jack @manton another vote for per-post, per-service cross-posting!

@skoobz I really like this approach. Normally I’ve left cross-posting enabled but sometimes turn it off temporarily if something doesn’t need to syndicate.

@pimoore I’m about to wire it up so that anything I post to either status.lol or Mastodon gets pushed to Day One as well. As I see it, that thought was important enough for me to publish, so it was important. I want to get books printed eventually and I feel like they would be a good way to view my past.
