Another detail about Micro.one, especially for folks who want to share it with friends and family as soon as it launches: it will be limited to 3000 total subscribers. That’s a tiny number at the scale of big silos, but it’s a lot for us. Needs to be sustainable in the context of the whole platform.

@manton Are there any plans to make video embedding easier? Feels like should just be able to post a link and everything else gets automatically handled.
@manton Just YouTube. I tried the embed code, then discovered the short code thing you can do. But I think I expected to be able to paste the link and micro.blog handle the rest. Also, had to update css as there’s no padding around the video.
@samradford Thanks, we can improve the default styling for sure. Maybe when you paste a URL it should just convert to an embed for you, which could be edited. I sometimes worry about doing too much automatically for people who want to tinker with exactly how it looks.
@manton I think that would be my preference. I hear you on balance between ease of use and ability to tinker. But, even as someone who doesn’t mind tinkering, I was hoping for a more automated out of the box option. Thanks for all your work on this—I am, overall, a very happy customer!

@starrwulfe Problems, I emailed help@micro.blog. After I changed to a custom domain stuff stopped working. Others experienced similar so I'm still happy with my migration from Wordpress.
