Sad that this post from the Iconfactory is needed, but the art is great.

@manton Very sad that it's come to this. I feel bad for devs that were counting on revenue from Twitter apps to keep their business running.

@vmachiel By “sad” I mean it hurts to watch a developer’s business be gutted because of platform dependencies. But yeah, I’ve long moved away from Twitter and built my whole business betting on its eventual failure.

@vmachiel @manton From what I’ve read again today, the API is still gone—and cross-posting potentially to follow—with no acknowledgement whatsoever from Twitter. This could be the final straw that breaks the camel’s back.

@pimoore Is it the API or targeted toward certain apps? Coz as some developers said, theirs is working e.g., posting from Drafts.

@pratik Not sure about things like Drafts, but it seems the main apps like Tweetbot, Twitterrific, Spring, etc., are down and out. I feel it’s only a matter of time before everything non-official doesn’t work, as my understanding is they layed off some or all of the API team.

@pimoore Yup. Eventually it’s gonna be a completely insular screaming into the void place.

@manton This is definitely very sad. Twitterrific was one of the first Twitter clients to really embrace accessibility, something they've continued to do throughout the years. Great folks, great software, it's a shame Twitter has become what it has. Here's hoping they direct their energies into something new: Mastorific perhaps? :)
