Dear OSX Daily - are headlines like this really necessary?
@JohnPhilpin I donât see anything wrong with it. There are people who will need that exact informationâŚ
@handy @ChrisJWilson @JohnPhilpin @Miraz @Munish In this instance Iâd say itâs mostly harmless SEO.
Like Miraz, I had assumed the keyboard had a battery â and I previously used one as my only computer for several months! â and I donât think itâs unreasonable to assume more people think that the keyboard has a battery. The article explains that there is no battery and how it works.
@SimonWoods et al
How about a more useful headline?
How The iPad Pro Magic Keyboard Is Powered
⌠that says what youâre going to get, no bait, nothing misleading, no incorrect implication.
@JohnPhilpin Aha! I see the problem. đ
@JohnPhilpin The main reason I can think to use the existing headline is if you assume that people are more likely to ask that particular question, rather than search for âpowering the keyboardâ or anything like that.
Iâm not sure the difference between powering or charging matters enough, especially when for most people they just want to check how they do a thing. Given that, I would side with the people in favour of the headline especially since charging is certainly the commonly known action when it comes to these devices.
If it said âYou Wonât Believe This Terrible Secret Apple Is Hiding From Youâ then sure, Iâd be perturbed.
@JohnPhilpin Oh, also, to be clear; I wouldnât choose to use that headline, although thatâs easy to say since Iâm not in that line of work having to deal with that particular environment.
@SimonWoods I agree with that final line. Not to say I donât agree with the lines that came before âŚ
