@JohnPhilpin I don't see anything wrong with it. There are people who will need that exact information…

@handy @ChrisJWilson @JohnPhilpin @Miraz @Munish In this instance I'd say it's mostly harmless SEO.

Like Miraz, I had assumed the keyboard had a battery — and I previously used one as my only computer for several months! — and I don't think it's unreasonable to assume more people think that the keyboard has a battery. The article explains that there is no battery and how it works.

@SimonWoods et al

How about a more useful headline?

How The iPad Pro Magic Keyboard Is Powered

… that says what you’re going to get, no bait, nothing misleading, no incorrect implication.

@JohnPhilpin The main reason I can think to use the existing headline is if you assume that people are more likely to ask that particular question, rather than search for "powering the keyboard" or anything like that.

I'm not sure the difference between powering or charging matters enough, especially when for most people they just want to check how they do a thing. Given that, I would side with the people in favour of the headline especially since charging is certainly the commonly known action when it comes to these devices.

If it said "You Won't Believe This Terrible Secret Apple Is Hiding From You" then sure, I'd be perturbed.

@JohnPhilpin Oh, also, to be clear; I wouldn't choose to use that headline, although that's easy to say since I'm not in that line of work having to deal with that particular environment.

@SimonWoods agree - glad it is not my job - but change has to start somewhere.

@SimonWoods I agree with that final line. Not to say I don’t agree with the lines that came before ...
