I’m a bit sad 😔 that this post, “Dear Micro.blog - How Can I Help” didn’t get the expected traction. I don’t know why. Maybe it fell between the cracks of a busy Micro.blog timeline. But this morning, I’m trying something different by explicitly tagging my virtual friends cc @jean @manton

@numericcitizen I think it's great you posted this and I'm glad you tagged Manton & Jean in this post because I'm sure it can be hard for them to catch everything. I hope they check back in with you! If you'd be interested in offering email customer support, I bet that would be a big help.

@numericcitizen FWIW I agree, I think that the part of micro.blog that doesn't work as well as the rest is support. Sometimes I get an answer very quickly and the support is excellent, at other times there no answer or things seem to be forgotten. I kind of work in a similar position, many different people filing questions and asking for help, so I completely understand how easy it is to forget stuff and it's probably my biggest problem at work. If people could help out in some more official capacity I think it would be a huge help for the support side of micro.blog

@numericcitizen I think that if one wants to help on help.micro.blog, there is no need to ask. just get down and answer stuff you know. it will be appreciated by everyone.

@pcora good point. I'm monitoring that place but passively.

@numericcitizen it would be cool if there was a way for experienced pros who are also MB enthusiasts to volunteer some time to the project. At work, we have a select group of our users meet for a month “ambassadors” meeting where we discuss future plans and gather feedback. (I’m a UX Designer)

@numericcitizen @jean Thanks! Just a lot of different things going on right now and haven't had time to give that post any attention. Really appreciate it though.

@numericcitizen I missed this post. I skim the timeline and don’t catch everything, and I don’t click through to read most of the longer posts. (We had an ice storm with power and internet outages this weekend, which made it harder for me to keep up, just so you know.)

If you tag me, I usually reply promptly. Or email me (jean@micro.blog) to be sure that I see something.

I really appreciate your great care and interest. Now that I have read the post, I still need time to figure out how to respond. I haven’t yet had time to figure out how to feature your videos so that people will find them. But I will.

@briandigital I LOVE and support this idea! I like to call myself an ambassador at the office for some projects or even sometimes an evangelist if that applies!

@numericcitizen Can relate. Trying the same for micro.blog over here. Most likely having a background similar to yours, I think I also volunteered a while ago mostly because I see micro.blog has certain ... challenges in maintaining uptime especially outside US business hours (but maybe that's just me). As they say - for whatever it's worth. Still think it needs more projects like these out there.
