@Verso Whatever's convenient for you. Email is good (help@micro.blog) but here or in Slack is also fine.

@manton oh - nice - Id noticed that date appear at the top earlier - and hadnt quite dawned on me what you were doing.

This is the PUBLISHED date you are changing ... right?

@JohnPhilpin Right, the published date.

@manton very cool ... particularly now with the edit date working in mars edit ... incredibly useful. Add a wrong date and the thing disappears - and up it pops at the top in Mars Edit (sort by edited date).

@JohnPhilpin @manton If you edit yesterday’s post’s date/time to one for today, will it reappear in the timeline?

@pratik yes - yes it does - the link takes you to a post that I orginally dropped in yesterday ... and now it is in today’s stream.

I specifically chose a post with no comments - not sure what would happen there - since comments would then be dated PRIOR to the post being ‘published' - but I am sure there is an answer…..

Also - on the way through - I accidentally put the wrong date in - and it saved - and was not showing on the timeline - because it was dated TOMORROW - so that is also possible - and I assume that means we can schedule posts?

Finally - we seem to have a 24 hour clock in how we at least set the time ... if not display it ... should please a few people that have been raising this recently!

@JohnPhilpin scheduled posts. That was my follow-up question. I’m sure @manton must have thought about this.

@pratik yeah - just tried creating a new post but no control on entering a date - not even if you save as a draft first.

BUT - i guess you could write one and publish and immediately edit and save date to the future as a quick kluge before @manton opens the spigot on proper scheduling 😊

I will let you break the internet by editing an existing post with comments to see how that works!

@pratik @JohnPhilpin You can edit the date of a recent post, but if it's older than 24 hours, Micro.blog doesn't update the timeline with any of the changes. It will always update on your blog. (There's no scheduling... I think drafts are the best solution for now.)

@manton @pratik @JohnPhilpin For scheduling, there is a solution: Futurepub from @cleverdevil (but you’d need to use something other than the Micro.blog apps to write the post/send it to Futurepub—and, of course, you’d need to generate a token for futurepub to use to publish to your micro.blog).

@smokey thanks for the heads up .... it is beyond my pay grade .. and I am not interested in enough in scheduling to learn :-) ... ‘living in the moment baby’ !

@JohnPhilpin Yup. Not interested in scheduling as well. For longer posts, I use Blot where you can schedule. M.B. is meant for thoughts at the moment. @smokey

@pratik @JohnPhilpin Yeah, I agree that scheduling is not useful for a lot of cases, which is probably why Manton is right not to focus on it and let Jonathan fill in the missing piece.

However, there are some cases, e.g. for people who are using M.b as their blog-blog and have a book/product/etc. release, it would be useful to write the announcement beforehand and schedule it, as one less thing to have to do manually at the time-of-release (vs. saving a draft and pulling it out of drafts to publish).

Also if you wanted to write your Micro Monday recommendation on Saturday and have it go out on Monday without forgetting about it ;-)
