I must admit, I’m a bit skeptical of the subcription move by Flexibits for their 3.0 release of Fantastical. Another app subscription is something I’m trying to avoid. I’d rather just pay for each new release of their app.

@matthewlang i know exactly what you mean. it's made me wonder if it's really that much better than the standard ios calendar app. i probably would have bought a new version straight away, but a subscription... that's a different matter.
@matthewlang I’d like to see a list of things (if any) I would lose if I updated to the free version. It looks very nice but I don’t want another subscription either.
@ChrisJWilson I'm going to move to Calendar in the meantime. I'm starting to wonder if the pricing will change or they might make some the premium features standard. Lots of mixed opinions on Twitter as well.
@stefp Does the MacStories review help? I see a couple of things that I already or used to get for free.
@hjertnes I really like the extra features, especially that I can integrate Todoist with it, so I have my calendar events and tasks , it's pretty Swell
@hjertnes I definitely don't which is why I am switching to Calendar. However, I did enjoy using the Fantastical app up until this annoucement. It is a good looking and helpful app. I'm just not convinced that it's worth the amount that Flexbits are charging.
@matthewlang Thanks. I hadn’t read that yet. “Users of Fantastical 2, regardless of the platform they were using, get to carry all existing features into the new app for free”.
@stefp That’s good to know. I haven’t fully read the review myself but skimming over MacStories, The Sweet Setup and a couple of others, the new version looks to being well received by reviewers.
@hjertnes I can use it without upgrading, but the locked out features would start to be annoying. I'm all in or out with an app.
@matthewlang I miss buying an app and then just having that app. I don't like it when I am forced an upgrade - even a feature compatible upgrade - if I'm happy with the app, let me use the app. Let me decide if I want to upgrade.
