@Cheri Not like you and the others here write fiction, but yes, I used to, once upon a time…. I wrote a sci-fi “series” from about 3rd grade through high school—probably until I went to Egypt and discovered I could maybe do this whole “poetry” thing—and various one-offs in middle and high school—the quality was as one might expect from that era. The last time I did any fiction writing, I was in grad school and started a story while at a bar up the street from my place with some friends, and I got maybe a paragraph in and never returned to it 😂

@Cheri A few paragraphs in and I was already teary-eyed. What a wonderfully written short story. The integration of big and small apocalypses alike is amazing. Really thoughtful, too, with the logistics of such an event and how people might really react. Continued success with your writing!
