Rolled out another change I forgot to make with this morning’s Mastodon changes: your “about me” text from Micro.blog now shows up for Mastodon users too. (Mastodon will cache profiles so may take a while to update everywhere.)

@manton - When i search for your profile at mastodon.social it brings up this page: mastodon.social/@manton@manton.org which is poulated with your micro.blog posts. Is this auto-generated when we turn on Activity.Pub functionality? When i search for my handle (@BenjaminHolsteen@themelancholaholic.com) at mastodon.social nothing comes up, so I’m just wondering if there’s some extra backend magic needed for my profile to become searchable from mastodon and show up when searched for.
@manton are there any specs for profiles? Eg character count, formatting restrictions etc?
@briandigital It should be just plain text, no links or formatting. I don’t think there’s a character limit.
@BenjaminHolsteen I’ve tracked this down to some kind of DNS issue for your root domain themelancholaholic.com… Do you mind sending me details of the settings at your DNS provider? Maybe it’s a simple configuring we can tweak. Otherwise I think it should be working.
@manton These are cool! Just curious, is it possible to forward my followers to micro.blog like I can when between two Mastodon accounts?
